Enlisted MAY 1862 at Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia, as a Private in Company A "Upson Sentinels," 46th Regiment, Georgia Infantry, Confederate States Army. Was wounded on 26 SEP 1863 at Chickamauga, Georgia, and got a wounded furlough in AUG 1864. Surrendered at Greensboro, NC, on 26 APR 1865.
Also serving in this company were: Frank H. BROWN, John, W. BROWN, J. B. BROWN, J. Frank BROWN, John A. DeLOACH, William M. DeLOACH, George W. DENHAM, Jesse M. MALLORY, Thomas J. MALLORY, Dennis SHEPHERD, and Frank M. SHEPHERD.
